One month in...
I posted about being a better developer in 6 months just like everyone else, so I thought I'd see how I'm doing...
- Blog more. OK, I really said every other day, but I have improved. Hey this is my second post today! :) (C)
- Finish and Expand the SDK for work. Roll out for v1 is on Tuesday. Really fun stuff - I should post about some of the quick wins I've been able to incorporate. (A-)
- Upgrade this website. I really spent a ton of time trying to get DotNetNuke to upgrade but it wouldn't play nice. I guess I'll just have to install the latest and migrate all my content over. Sorry guys, but any more problems and I'm moving to something else. I did get DasBlog running on localhost with all my content moved over and got the email to blog feature running. Super cool, but unfortunately it won't play nice with DNN or there's a problem running it at my host. (B-, but not for lack of effort)
- Learn the Castle stack. I researched it a bit and went through the getting started and so far... I don't like it. Leaky abstraction or not, I know and like ASP.Net. (C+)
- Get comfortable with Orcas. Haven't touched the bits I downloaded. (D)
- Stop writing classic ASP. This will hopefully become much easier when I finish #2, but so far I'm still in it. (D)
Overall, not too bad for the first month, I'd say a solid C. I'll grade myself again in a few weeks and see if it picks up at all.
