Blog Theme Help

I'm working on updating my Community Server blog theme so it won't look so much like the out of the box themes.

A couple of good resources for people who are only marginally creative like me:  :)

  • www.colorsontheweb.com has a whole bunch of tools to help create and visualize different color schemes.  I'll be going with the scheme called "Vintage Hula Girl" I found on their site.  It's pretty close to what I was configuring using their Color Wizard tool but has a little extra spark from what I configured on my own.
  • One of my favorite design resources, Smashing Magazine, has a few galleries of great blog themes.  I'm taking inspiration from a few of them.
  • The Community Server docs are pretty lacking for their Chameleon controls but ut looks like they're working on it.  It doesn't tell me much more than intellisense.  But luckily the forums and bloggers like Dave Burke and Ben Tiedt are there for help.  (Yep, I had purchased my license before the hammer came down.  Now I'm sort of committed to the platform even if I don't like the idea of it as much - but that's another post.)

Hoping to have the new theme up soon!
